The
IOA has a number of drawings and plans. Many of these are quite large
(approximately A1 size), and most of them are poor quality, probably
from having been copied many times. I would like to know:
- Does anyone know the whereabouts of the original drawings /
plans?
- Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to make these
drawings available on the web? Problems to overcome are:
- how to scan in large drawings?
- how to clean up the image?
- how to store the image in an efficient format (e.g. AutoCAD?)
- how others can access the files (e.g. are there any shareware
readers for AutoCAD?)
I would welcome your suggestions on how to proceed.
I have managed to scan in the first, and perhaps the most useful, of
the drawings - the one of the centreboard. This was only A4 size, and
has been scanned at 300dpi and cleaned up so that the text is as
legible as on my copy, and saved as a GIF file. Let me know if you
have any problems downloading or printing out. |
